Getting paid is important and Scout makes it convenient for both business and pet owners. Scout connects to a company called Braintree Payments, a PayPal company. Braintree allows pet sitting business owners to set up and customize their own merchant accounts. You can choose what forms of payment you want to allow your customers to use. Select from:
- American Express
- Android Pay
- Apple Pay (Coming Soon)
- Venmo (Coming Soon)
Right now, Braintree is the only mobile payment solution that offers merchants the ability to accept PayPal, one of the most popular electronic payment methods among consumers.
Scout also allows businesses to easily accept cash, check, or "other" payment methods. While we can't automate outside payment processors, Scout allows invoices to be closed manually when an override is in place.
How does it work?
When you sign up for Scout business owners are given the option to create a Braintree merchant account. Once you provide basic information such as name, address, social security number, and tax id, Braintree authorizes you to accept payment almost immediately. Once connected to Scout, we electronically notify Braintree Payments each billing period with how much to charge each card. All of your customers' credit card data is stored directly with Braintree, leaving electronic payment security to the experts.
