Do you want to grow your pet sitting business? Over the last few months, Scout has been adding features and services to help business owners grow their companies. Here's a guide to some of the awesome features available to all Scout customers.
1. Grow Your Pet Sitting Business With Leads
Leads is a web form that allows potential customers to request a pet sitting meet and greet directly from your website. Having a call to action is the foundation of digital marketing. A call to action, as defined by Miriam Webster, is "a piece of content intended to induce a viewer, reader, or listener to perform a specific act, typically taking the form of an instruction or directive (e.g. buy now or click here )." For dog walkers and pet sitters, that's the meet and greet request form.
How it Works
Scout provides a number of ways to easily install Leads on any website. A button or link should be placed on each page of your website after the form is installed. This link is your call to action. A pet owner fills out the form, an email confirmation is sent to the customer, and an alert is sent to the business. The customer's information is available right in the Scout system. After you make contact with the customer, mark them as contacted so you can track who you have spoken too. When your new customer is ready to sign up, a manager just hits a button, and the Scout on-boarding process will take the pet owner through the set-up process.
2. The Media Kit
Scout's Mobile App for Pet Owners provides valuable convenience and accountability tools to pet sitting customers. Business owners often want to promote that value on their website as part of their marketing plan, and we encourage you to do so. To make sure your website always has high quality, current graphics, and to save you the time and expense of creating them, we provide a media kit. Once the code for the images you like is placed on your website, you'll always be up to date with the latest content.

3. Daily Backups
As an auditor, my job was to find and help mitigate financial risk for publicly traded companies. Part of every audit required me to make sure the company had a disaster recovery plan. Having a plan isn't just for big companies. Our customers care for animals that could be harmed in the event of a prolonged outage. While having backups might not seem like a growth tool, missing appointments due to an outage certainly does nothing to help.
At Scout, we take our responsibility to your clients seriously and use one of the best cloud computing services available. While the likelihood of a prolonged outage is very, very small, we took it one step further. Every morning, we back up three days worth of all the necessary data to a file. In the event of an outage, business owners can access their file and continue to be fully operational.
4. Send a Birthday Message
Growing a company isn't just about adding new customers. A major challenge for business owners is maintaining existing relationships. If your business' customers are like mine, you barely hear a peep when everything is going well. It's easy to get caught up in the day to day activities and forget to reach out from time to time. That's why I love the pet birthday report.
How it Works
Each week the businesses receive a list of upcoming pet birthdays or adoption days. I use this report to reach out and let my clients know I'm thinking about them. Every Monday when my report is ready, I fill out a few cards with a personal message, a cute picture we've taken of their pet, and I put it in the mailbox.
