Security and Trust
We take data security and privacy very seriously. Below are some of the practices we follow to make sure your information remains as secure as possible.
What Makes Scout Secure?
Payment information collected through Scout is stored and processed via Braintree Payments, a PayPal company. Braintree is Level 1 PCI compliant, meaning they adhere to a strict set of requirements when storing and handling credit card data. They power payments for some of the biggest brands in the world, including Uber, OpenTable and Yelp.
All data is transferred using bank-grade, 256-bit SSL for maximum security. Data is physically stored on our secure servers located in Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers across the USA. AWS has some of the most secure controls of any provider out there, which is why they’re the chosen infrastructure provider for some of the world’s largest companies.
Your pet care business never stops working and neither should your software. For unsurpassed reliability, we’ve built Scout on top of AWS, the same infrastructure used by Amazon and Netflix. With bank-grade security and 99.99% uptime you and your clients can feel safe and confident that Scout will be there when you need it.
Scout is continuously monitored for outages, slowdowns, and other issues. Should there be any interruptions in service, you’ll automatically be emailed letting you know that there’s an issue. And as always, we’re standing by with our best-in-class support to answer any questions you may and keep you up to date.
Unlike competitors, Scout is 100% transparent about the status of the platform. Curious if there’s a problem with the platform? Check our public status page anytime for known issues.
